Beijing Institute for Scientific and Engineering Computing (BISEC) is a newly established research institution by the Beijing municipal government; see http://bisec.bjut.edu.cn. BISEC locates inside the Beijing University of Technology. Beijing University of Technology (BJUT for short, formerly known as Beijing Polytechnic University) was founded in 1960. It has established a multi-disciplinary academic structure, which offers various academic programs and involves in diversified research in the fields of science, engineering, economics, management, liberal arts, and law. It is ranked as one of the 100 key universities for the 21st century. According to the demands of economic and social development of Beijing and across China, BISEC focuses on the important problems on various fields, such as aerospace, transportation, environment, biology, information. We collaborate with the advantage disciplines of BJUT and promote interdisciplinary research on scientific and engineering computations. Besides, we undertake the scientific research and social service work to promote related industrial and social development of the capital city.
BISEC invites applications for positions at various levels including postdoctoral fellows, tenure-track assistant, associate, and full professors for research and graduate student education in the institute. The salary, start-up funds, and fringe benefit for these positions will be competitive by both domestic and international standards and they will be commensurate with each applicant’s research credentials and working experiences.
Available Positions: BISEC plans to fill in numerous positions of different types in areas of Computational Mathematics, FSI dynamics, Virtual Medicine, 3D visualization and Computer Graphics, Parallel Computation, Mathematical Statistics and Biostatistics, Optimization (theory and application). In the coming academic year, the following three types of positions will be available:
1.Tenure-track assistant professor positions with annual salary up to 250,000 (tax included).
2.A number of associate professor and professor positions with competitive salary and benefit by both China and international standards.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree. Preference for tenure-track positions will be given to those with at least three years of research experience abroad, excellent research record, strong motivation, good communication skills, and adequate teaching experience.
